Kathrine Ann Craven Moland

Here's a picture of my oldest daughter, Kate, in her clever and beautiful disguise as a Grecian muse taken April 28, 2001.  Kate has been held in thrall by all things Greek since she was just a little girl.  Her passion started, the same as mine, with a wonderful children's book of Greek Mythology and blossomed from there.  She's really made of study of the subject and is quite well versed in the stories and legends of all the Greek gods and goddesses, heroes and heroines.

Kate (like her mother) LOVES Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and (unlike her mother) the Power Puff Girls.  She can give you a rational explanation of the traits of the three main characters as representations of the Maiden, Mother, and Crone. (Bubbles, the one in blue is into balloons and butterflies and is always getting into trouble, so she's the Maiden.  Blossom, the one in pink is always fixing things and saving folks, so she's the Mother.  And the one in green is grumpy and angry, so she's the Crone.  I don't watch many cartoons these days, so I don't profess to understand it, but it works for Kate.)

Kate is a Gemini born on May 21, 1978 in Salt Lake City, Utah.  She loves dancing, playing pool, and stimulating conversation.  She has the largest blue eyes, and desperately weak ankles.  She is a joy.

Kate married a wonderful young man named Wes Moland.  He's a handsome and loving fellow who treats her like a goddess.  There's a serene and happy light that shines in both of their faces, so I am content that they will do well, wrapped in each other's loving arms.  They recently moved to Florence, Alabama where Wes works in his father's auto shop and Kate is managing the magazine section of a bookstore.
